Samba Raro by Max de Castro
Samba Raro by Max de Castro
First vinyl release of this album originally released in 1999 only on cd.
Samba Raro is the debut album of Max de Castro, the youngest son of singer and composer Wilson Simonal.
Used to mixing soul, samba, bossa nova, electronic music and samba-rock, Max's music continues to be influenced by the work of Jorge Ben Jor, Cassiano and Djavan and gains its own characteristics as he expands his musical horizons, a fact that occurs in some of songs that mix subtle hints of modernity with classic elements of Brazilian popular music without one element canceling out or compromising the other.
With arrangements and lyrics refined by the simplicity with which he mixes electronic effects and acoustic drums, Max de Castro's tracks promote a journey through what Brazilian popular music has to offer, going through the most varied rhythms and styles.
